I have done translations in my leisure time since 1994 and have worked full-time as a freelance translator under the name Stone Translation since 1998. I translate between Danish, English and German. I have translated everything from adultery to zoo-sociology over the years but I specialise in technical and medical translations. I also work as an interpreter for the courts and the police.
I have a Specialised Language Diploma in English and German and hold a BA in English. I am a trilingual commercial correspondent (Danish-English-German) and I also studied German at the Open University for 4 years.
I am a qualified interpreter, approved by the National Commission of the Danish Police as an interpreter for English and German (interpreter no. 2215).
Native speakers are not always "native spellers" too, but I do it better than most. I have published several articles in a scholarly journal about the Danish language and I am one of the very few who masters both Danish comma systems.
My commercial experience includes: 5 years as a journeyman smith for various companies, 10 years with quality assurance and documentation in the district heating industry and 3 years as a commercial correspondent in the machinery industry. I have also worked as a crane and forklift truck driver.
